In our opinion, the best form of jazz is live jazz.
Our live events bring the best jazz artists to those who appreciate what they do. However, it is essential to us that we make our events as inclusive and accessible as possible.
Our events include free or subsidised workshops for young people, who may otherwise not be able to experience live jazz or have a chance to play live music. We invite the best jazz artists to share their experience and skills in the hope we can inspire more young people to pick up an instrument, no matter what style of music they choose to play.
From discounted event tickets for young people, to working directly with schools, colleges and universities, we try to ensure the next generation of jazz audiences and performers are engaged and supported.
The health benefits of listening to music are well documented. That's why we're passionate about providing live events that are as accessible as possible.
Sure, we look to provide excellent events for established jazz audiences, but we also look to provide specific relaxed performances, to include those who may feel excluded from a mainstream event.
We are delighted and very excited to be presenting the 2019 Southend Jazz Festival.
With a full 6-days of Jazz performances, events and workshops, showcasing some amazing local talent and bringing some of the UK's top artists the town, this will be the biggest and most inclusive jazz festival Southend has ever seen.
